ERA Wilder Realty Administrator Receives Annie Epting Volunteer of the Year Award
Columbia, SC December 2007-Recently, Sue Miller, Lexington ERA Wilder Realty
Administrator, was nominated for and received the Annie Epting Volunteer of the
Year. This award is sponsored by the Chapin Chamber of Commerce. The presentation
was held on Friday, November 9
th.
During the 2006-2007 year, Sue chaired a multi-phased project which contributed
over $160,000 to the local community through the American Cancer Society. Sue
began her preparations nine months ahead of time. She personally recruited 33%
of the Relay for Life committee to ensure the success of the project. Using a
creative theme of “Cancer Awareness is no Trivial Pursuit,” she combined education
and personnel management to spur her volunteer involvement.
Final figures estimate the Relay for Life raised $160,583 with a total of 40
teams involved from the community of Chapin as well as Ballentine, White Rock
and Irmo.
It is always a positive reflection to have employees contributing back to their
community. Sue's selection as Volunteer of the Year is evidence of her role in
the community and the esteem in which she is held by her peers.
