What is an Average Day in the Life of an Agent?

There are many things to expect when starting your business.  The number one component in the real estate business is prospecting.  It seems to be the most challenging for nearly every real estate agent.

Prospecting Ideas:

  • Contacting your sphere of influence
  • Open houses
  • Web techniques
  • Networking
  • Handing out business cards
  • And more!

Prospecting is not a simple task, but in order to be a successful real estate agent, you must do it constantly and have a positive attitude.  Some other activities you could expect to do on a daily basis:

  • Tour new listings
  • Preview homes
  • Staying updated on real estate-related laws and issues
  • Conduct and attend open houses
  • Being an "Agent On Duty" at the office
  • Prepare and present market analysis reports, listing proposals and marketing plans
  • Show homes to prospective buyers
  • Attend closings with your clients
  • Follow up with clients and customers
  • Prepare contracts for purchase and presenting offers for buyers, and offers from others to your sellers
  • Assist with communication between all the parties involved in the transaction
  • Training and education--this is a constant task!
